Aviva is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our high-profile data science team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of insurance at Aviva through cutting-edge analytics.

About the Role:

You will work with one of the richest insurance datasets in the world, applying sophisticated techniques and technology to all stages of the data science process. Your expertise will be essential in leading a team to formulate problems, extract and prepare data, apply modeling, and deploy solutions.

What We're Looking For:

  • Highly numerate and educated to degree or postgraduate level in a relevant field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • Several years' experience with a track record of solving complex non-routine problems, and expertise in areas such as Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and AI.
  • Significant experience in each process within data science, including problem definition, data acquisition and wrangling, modeling, feature engineering, and deployment.
  • Programming knowledge and a gift for coding using languages such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, or Spark.
  • The ability to deliver projects, collaborate with operational teams, and explain technical concepts to non-specialists.

What You'll Get:

  • A competitive salary between £40,000 and £65,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • A bonus opportunity of up to 10% of annual salary, based on performance and Aviva's targets.
