About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Portfolio Director to join our team at Knauf. As a key member of our Marketing department, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and profitability of our product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify customer requirements, unmet needs, and opportunities to develop clear propositions that align with our business strategy.
  • Competitor Analysis: Assess and analyze competitor portfolios to understand their impact and trade-offs, and develop strategies to differentiate our products.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, from new product development to repositioning, extensions, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Category Strategy: Develop and implement category strategies aligned with our business goals and ambitions, ensuring a clear understanding of sector performance requirements and how they vary across different construction types.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate high commercial acumen in proposition development, linking back to our overarching business strategy.
  • Performance Metrics: Analyze and manage product KPIs, setting and reviewing targets to ensure the business remains on track to achieve its budget within the categories/product portfolio.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing Team to execute campaigns and programs with brilliance, ensuring post-evaluation to improve future initiatives.
Requirements
  • CIM Marketing or Business Qualification: Possess a relevant marketing or business qualification, such as CIM or a related field.
  • Leadership and Management Experience: Demonstrate leadership and management experience, with a proven track record of delivering growth and profitability across a product category.
  • Commercial and Analytical Skills: Possess strong commercial and analytical skills, with experience working within the construction sector.
  • Relationship Building: Be an effective relationship builder and confident networker, with the ability to tailor messaging to audience needs and requirements.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Demonstrate a collaborative team player approach, with a customer-focused mindset.
