Position Overview:

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is seeking a proactive and skilled governance expert to join our team as the Head of Governance. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in the ongoing enhancement and expansion of our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-level, strategic corporate governance counsel and operational support to MAG's Board of Trustees and Leadership Team, ensuring that our governance frameworks are both effective and compliant with regulatory standards and best practices within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team that provides essential Management Support services, including office administration and travel coordination for staff.
  • Offer comprehensive guidance to the Board of Trustees and Executive on governance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Charity Commission and act as a Data Protection Officer.
  • Analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels and key external stakeholders, including regulators and advisors.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in governance, particularly in supporting and advising a Board of Trustees. Experience in the international NGO sector is advantageous but not mandatory. Your leadership skills should inspire and guide your team effectively.
