Job Title: Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Financial and Operating Officer to join our team at Withington Girls' School, a leading independent day school for girls aged 7-18. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day non-educational operations of the school, including finance, estates, human resources, IT, facilities, compliance, and all commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management of the school's non-educational operations, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services.
  2. Financial Management: Oversee the school's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  3. Operational Management: Manage the school's estates, human resources, IT, facilities, and compliance functions, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  4. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the school's strategic planning, providing financial and operational expertise to inform decision-making.
  5. Governance: Serve as Clerk to the Governors, providing administrative support and ensuring effective governance.

Requirements:

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in a financial or operational role.
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with the Headmistress, Governors, and colleagues.
  • Experience in the education sector is not essential, but a willingness to learn and adapt to the school's environment is essential.
