Position Overview

The individual in this role will support the ward leader in overseeing the daily operations and guidance of a team comprising both registered and non-registered personnel within the Bridgend Clinic. This includes facilitating the movement of patients to and from surgical procedures and the ward.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in delivering healthcare services to the Cwm Taf community, with ongoing accountability for evaluating care requirements and ensuring service delivery.

Your responsibilities will include providing effective leadership to a team dedicated to delivering high-quality services within the available resources in a specified area.

Key Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a managerial capacity at Band 6 within the Bridgend Clinic at the Princess of Wales Hospital. This clinic specializes in elective surgeries across various fields, including colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, urology, gynecology, and ENT.

The role encompasses assisting with the preoperative preparation of patients, managing post-surgical care, coordinating ward activities, and collaborating with the ward leader to uphold safety and quality standards.

This position also provides the opportunity to engage with the surgical framework in Ward 16 and the Ambulatory Emergency Surgical Unit. These three units operate under a single ward leader, and the successful candidate may be required to rotate among these areas.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, along with a flexible work approach. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care are essential.

You will be an integral member of the team, offering support to both the staff and the Ward Leader. Demonstrating effective leadership capabilities is vital, and you will play a key role in governance initiatives. Proficiency in the Welsh language is preferred for this position; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
