About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Ward Manager at Bridgend Clinic, Princess of Wales Hospital.

Bridgend Clinic is an elective surgical ward specializing in various areas including colorectal, upper GI, urology, gynaecology, and ENT. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Ward Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preoperative preparation of patients and receiving them post-surgery.
  • Acting as a coordinator on the ward, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
  • Collaborating with the Ward Manager to maintain high standards of care and safety within the ward environment.
  • Providing effective leadership and support to a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.
  • Contributing to the governance agenda and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a flexible and adaptable approach to work. A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care is essential.

You will have a proven track record of success in a surgical setting and demonstrate effective leadership qualities. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not mandatory.
