Procurement Specialist

Job Summary
Anord Mardix, a global company, is a leading manufacturer of switchgear and associated products for mission-critical and live commercial buildings. We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Kendal, England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts according to production requirements.
- Receive and process confirmations, and modify purchase orders as needed.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular stock checks to avoid overstocking and minimize the risk of obsolescence.
- Correspond with freight forwarders, warehouses, and suppliers to arrange transportation.
- Handle claims, settle debit and credit issues, and file necessary documents.
- Check inventory levels and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage purchasing data privacy and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Review requisitions and MRP output, and confer with vendors to obtain product information.
- Order, reschedule, and cancel material as needed.
- Maintain procurement records, including items purchased, costs, delivery, and inventories.
- Manage supplier performance, including price, delivery, and quality expectations.
- Approve invoices for payment and investigate inventory levels.
- Monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
- Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and maintain procurement records, reports, and metrics.
Requirements:
- Typically requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of procurement experience.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as data entry and ERP software.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense comprehension to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
