About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Test Engineer to join our team at Flusso Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing the Test Engineering group's capability and capacity to understand our technology, products, and application solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior/Principal Test Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the technology, products, and application solutions developed by Flusso.
  • Specifying, designing, and building systems for testing Flusso gas and flow sensor solutions.
  • Developing test software, database functions, and test data analysis/visualisation tools.
  • Developing and executing test specifications.
  • Delivering high-quality, reliable test results and informative analysis.

New Product Development and Introduction

The Senior/Principal Test Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Building a full understanding of Flusso sensor devices and product solutions.
  • Capturing test requirements.
  • Developing specifications, methods, and plans for sensor performance characterisation, verification of compliance to sensor product specifications, and emulation of production test methods.
  • Designing, implementing, and integrating automated test setups involving standard test equipment, custom mechanical fixtures, fittings, and pipework, custom circuit boards and cabling, bespoke software, and database query/pre-processing functions.
  • Validating test methods and assessing test system accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility.
  • Capturing test results in the database system.
  • Efficiently and timely executing test plans.
  • Collaborating with the Data Science group in the development of test results analysis, reporting, and visualisation tools.
  • Developing test methods for investigation of sensor performance anomalies or failures.

Test Engineering Capability Development

The Senior/Principal Test Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to test lab infrastructure requirements, specifications, design, and implementation.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior Test Engineers to help raise their effectiveness, productivity, and quality of output.

Production Test and Products in Production

The Senior/Principal Test Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with test houses to develop, understand, and disseminate best practice for testing flow and gas sensor devices and modules.
  • Monitoring and reviewing production test data and yield. Investigating and diagnosing production test or yield issues.
  • Optimising test cost and coverage trade-offs.
  • In collaboration with the Quality department, investigating customer returns.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science subject.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of test and measurement, theory, and practice.
  • Test engineering for sensor products.
  • Development of test software and database query/pre-processing functions with rigorous source code version control.
  • Development of test results analysis and visualisation/presentation tools.
  • Use of databases for test result storage and access.
  • Integration of test solutions with bespoke mechanical parts, electronic subsystems, and software.
  • Use of standard electronics test equipment.
  • Analysis of test results and presentation of the information extracted, with a solid grasp of relevant statistical methods.
  • Working in an ISO9001:2015 quality system.
  • Working to lab protocols, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Desirable Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in testing gas detection and flow sensing components or products.
  • Time-series visualisation of test results using Grafana.
  • Test results analysis and presentation using Python and JMP.
  • Development of test software in LabVIEW.
  • Jig/fixture design using 3D CAD.
  • Silicon-MEMS component fabrication, packaging, and handling.
