About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team at Beam ABA Services. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults with autism and learning disabilities in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement person-centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice
  • Support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, and enhancing social skills
  • Monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets
  • Support individuals during times of crisis, such as challenging behaviour
  • Ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible
  • Assist service users with self-help skills, including personal care and hygiene needs
  • Model best practice and professionalism at all times
  • Attend mandatory trainings, team meetings, and self-directed e-learning modules
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service users to the highest standard
  • Implement restrictive techniques per service users' positive handling plan as required
  • Be flexible to support service users during evenings and weekends
Requirements
  • 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism
  • Experience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication
  • Clean driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field
  • 1+ year of applied experience working with special needs population
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience utilising ABA methodology
