We invite applications for the role of Emergency Medicine Consultant to become a vital part of our innovative and growing consultant team. As we expand our services and enhance our facilities, we are creating new permanent positions aimed at delivering outstanding patient care. We encourage locum consultants currently in position to consider applying and transitioning into these roles.

As a member of the Emergency Medicine consultant team, your responsibilities will include providing care for adult patients and overseeing Paediatric Emergency Medicine. You will also be involved in managing major trauma cases across our healthcare facilities. There may be opportunities to customize your job plan to align with your strengths and specific interests.

Our Emergency Departments have recently experienced significant growth and redevelopment, reflecting our commitment to improving patient services. This is an exciting time for our organization, and we welcome your expertise to help shape our future.

The consultant team operates from 08:00 to 00:00, seven days a week, with dedicated trauma coverage during the night. Our self-rostering and annualized hours system is designed to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance while pursuing a fulfilling career in Emergency Medicine.

Emergency Medicine at Our Trust

Our departments encompass a broad spectrum of specialty and subspecialty interests, focusing on areas such as research, major trauma, ultrasound, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, and education. Serving a diverse urban population, our institutions provide a stimulating and varied case mix, supported by our status as both an adult and paediatric major trauma center.

Joining Our Team

To be considered for this position, you must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine or be eligible for CCT or an equivalent qualification. Key skills include supervising trainees, teaching junior medical staff, leading teams, and effective communication with multidisciplinary colleagues.
