An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Site Agent to take on a pivotal role within our esteemed client’s operations in the Midlands. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Civil Engineering, complemented by hands-on experience in FRC & RC projects, bridge construction, and RMD formwork. This position demands engagement in a prestigious, Tier 1 setting, with a strong focus on health, safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    • Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality benchmarks.
    • Achieve safety objectives and uphold a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe behaviors.
    • Develop and disseminate risk assessments and method statements.
    • Support the Behavioural Safety initiative and facilitate hazard reporting.
  • Programme and Production:
    • Contribute to the value engineering and constructability of projects.
    • Collaborate with planners to finalize programmes and methodologies.
    • Oversee and manage resource needs and production outcomes.
    • Conduct programme analyses and lead short-term planning efforts.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Lead and direct a dedicated team.
    • Ensure procurement of materials and equipment aligns with specifications.
    • Manage material waste and allowances effectively.
    • Confirm that RAMS, ITPs, and MARs are authorized prior to commencement of work.
    • Identify requirements for temporary works and ensure their safe execution.
    • Meet project quality expectations and handover criteria.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in Civil Engineering with a strong technical foundation.
  • Proficiency in reinforced concrete structures.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations.
  • Capability to generate RAMS, Task Briefing Sheets, and safe work systems.
  • Understanding of Safety, Quality, and Environmental management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Membership in the Institution of Civil Engineers is advantageous.
  • IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, and CSCS Card are required.
  • Desirable qualifications include HS2 induction, Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator, First Aider, and Fire Marshall.
  • A fit for work medical (or safety-critical medical) is preferred.
