Are you meticulous, motivated, and ready to contribute positively? SHEAP is seeking a committed Finance Administration Associate to become part of our vibrant team, assisting with management accounting, financial forecasting, reporting, and grant submissions as we continue to grow.

Position Overview

We are in search of an individual to join our finance and administrative team, working in our office three days a week: Monday, Thursday, and Friday, totaling 22.5 hours weekly.

Main Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the finance manager and team to achieve:

  • Financial Reporting and Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, reporting, year-end accounts, and audit preparations.
  • Payroll Management: Support payroll preparation and timesheet collection.
  • VAT Submissions: Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns.
  • Budgeting and Financial Forecasting: Assist in the creation of budget reports, financial planning, and related financial processes.
  • Project Evaluation and Funding Requests: Help with project cost assessments and financial analyses, as well as the completion of funding applications.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct cost analyses.
  • Customer Service and Administrative Support: Aid the existing team by processing customer payments, addressing inquiries, and managing purchase ledgers during peak times.
  • Adherence to Financial Procedures: Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Required Skills:

Essential:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent, or currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Demonstrated experience as a financial assistant or in a similar financial support role.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Quick learner with excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to communicate and collaborate across teams and with diverse individuals.
  • High level of accuracy in all tasks, with exceptional attention to detail, written communication, and numerical skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with solid decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with a proven track record of responding positively to colleagues and external contacts.
  • Capacity to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAGE accounting software.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and project evaluation.

Employee Benefits:

  • Salary range of £28,000 - £32,500 per annum, pro-rated for 22.5 hours out of 37.
  • 41 days of annual paid holiday entitlement, pro-rated.
