Position Overview
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a premier oncology institution operating across two locations. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Administrative Coordinator to join our dynamic team within the Blood Sciences division. This role primarily focuses on supporting our laboratory operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our IT systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as a pivotal technical resource within the Blood Sciences department, playing a crucial role in the management and enhancement of our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and associated software. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and updating our LIMS and middleware systems.
- Assisting in the implementation and testing of new software solutions.
- Providing training and support to laboratory personnel on IT systems.
- Extracting and analyzing laboratory data as needed.
- Acting as a liaison between laboratory staff and IT departments to resolve technical issues.
Detailed Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of all IT systems utilized within the department.
- Offering first-line support for various IT equipment, including PCs and laboratory peripherals.
- Collaborating with the IT team to escalate issues as necessary.
- Utilizing Microsoft SQL databases and Excel for data management and reporting.
- Participating in departmental projects that require IT expertise.
