About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team at Barclays. As an Operational Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of operational risk across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification and Management: Identify and manage operational risks that could impact the bank's business objectives and reputation.
  • Operational Risk Data Analysis: Analyze operational risk data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging risks.
  • Risk-Based Analysis: Conduct risk-based analysis of business processes, systems, and controls to assess the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
  • Research and Monitoring: Conduct ongoing research and monitoring of internal and external sources to identify potential operational risks.
  • Review and Challenge: Review and challenge first-line activities, including Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Risk Events, and attendance at key Risk and Control meetings.
  • Risk-Based Input: Provide risk-based input into first-line projects, initiatives, and strategic decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Leadership and Accountability: Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Operational Risk Experience: Proven experience in operational risk management, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the bank's business operations and risk management framework.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Accountability: Proven leadership and accountability skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
