We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Board of Trustees as a Board Governance Specialist. As a key member of our governance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective governance of our organisation, Strathclyde Students'​ Union.

About the Role:

The Board of Trustees is the ultimate decision-making body for Strathclyde Students'​ Union, responsible for setting the overall direction and strategy of the organisation. As a Board Governance Specialist, you will work closely with our Chief Executive and other Board members to ensure that our governance practices are robust, transparent, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the Board of Trustees on governance matters
  • Develop and implement effective governance policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive and other Board members to achieve our organisational goals
  • Represent Strathclyde Students'​ Union at external events and meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in governance, risk, or compliance
  • Strong understanding of governance best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
