Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dyslexia Specialist to join our team at Olentangy Schools. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to students, staff, and families impacted by dyslexia.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Comprehensive Screening Process: Develop and implement a thorough screening process to ensure students are reading at their optimal level.
  2. Dyslexia Screener Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain the Dyslexia Screener to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  3. Training and Development: Create and deliver Orton-Gillingham (OG) training materials for Associate and Certified levels of certification.
  4. Teacher Training and Support: Provide OG teacher training and practicums at various levels of certification, ensuring staff are equipped to support students with dyslexia.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with families, professionals, and district administration to ensure effective communication and support.
  6. Private Tutor Placement: Supervise the placement of private OG tutors to ensure high-quality support for students.
  7. RTI and IEP Team Collaboration: Work closely with RTI and IEP teams to ensure seamless support for students with dyslexia.
