Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Property and Technical Manager to join our team at Legal & General. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a robust end-to-end approach to asset management, delivering optimal commercial and quality outcomes to the business and its customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Data Management
    • Collaborate across the business to ensure accurate and efficient capture of asset and component data before handover from developers and external stakeholders.
    • Work with the development team, contracts team, and external partners to maintain and validate asset and component data throughout the component lifecycle, including repairs, maintenance, servicing, and planned replacement.
  • Asset Optimization
    • Review and validate the approach to servicing and planned maintenance proposed and executed by management providers and external partners.
    • Collaborate with the data team to ensure asset data accuracy.
    • Collect, assess, and review product lifecycles and replacement costs following industry and market conditions.
  • Product Development
    • Develop and review standard products and specifications, considering market routes and customer insights.
    • Evaluate customer feedback on home quality to identify areas for enhancements and product improvements.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Monitor performance at asset, building, archetype, contract, and portfolio levels, contributing to asset optimization through lessons learned.
    • Assist the Head of Investment and Compliance in collaborating with finance and the broader business to support business planning assumptions for long-term asset investment.
  • Retrofit and Sustainability
    • Collaborate with the Head of Investment and Compliance and Head of Sustainability in evaluating retrofit works towards our Net Zero Carbon goal.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Strong academic background (RICS advantageous) with experience in residential property management and surveying.
    • Expertise in asset optimization and the key drivers of efficient asset management.
    • Solid technical knowledge of various products, specifications, costs, and product lifecycles in affordable housing.
    • Experience in developing major works programs at asset and portfolio levels.
    • Experience working with developers and residential property managers.
    • Background in a dynamic environment with continuous collaboration, change, and process improvement.
