Many of these young individuals, due to their mental health challenges, may find it difficult to reintegrate into the community and have experienced multiple hospital stays. As the Registered Manager of this Ofsted rated GOOD service, your responsibilities will include:

Creating Tailored Care Plans: Ensure that each young individual has a personalized plan addressing their care, educational, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
Building an Effective Team: Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract the right talent for your facility. Oversee company induction and personal development plans to maintain a strong, familiar team for the young individuals.
Encouraging Feedback: Develop systems to engage young individuals in discussions about their care.
Assigning Key Workers: Designate a Key Worker for each young individual to implement their care plan.
Upholding High Standards: Establish and monitor care quality standards in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
Addressing Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for managing any complaints or safeguarding issues.
Collaborating with Stakeholders: Partner with parents, guardians, and other professionals to enhance the welfare of young individuals.
Participating in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as necessary.
Promoting a Safe Environment: Ensure that the children in your care receive the highest standard of support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience


• Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a role related to residential care for children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity within the last 5 years.


• Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to obtain this within 6 months of employment.


• Knowledge: Familiarity with The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.


• Skills: Proficient in planning, organizing, budget management, resource allocation, and team leadership.


• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Understanding of Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviors.


• Driving License: Full UK driving license required.
