Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Operations Supervisor to join our enthusiastic and committed team at a client site in the North of Scotland. This role entails first-line supervision within a regional engineering sector, which encompasses team oversight, client engagement, and providing technical assistance to the helpdesk.

The Supervisor will adopt a proactive approach, collaborating across various levels of the contract to ensure seamless service delivery in a dynamic hard services environment. This includes supporting local teams with maintenance and reactive tasks, as well as planning, estimating, and overseeing minor project implementations.

This position will assist the Regional Engineering Manager and their deputies as necessary.

Effective customer relationship management is crucial, as the Supervisor will support existing and emerging client needs, contributing to a team that prioritizes exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly timesheet evaluations and validate technical documentation and compliance records.
  • Serve as the primary user of handheld devices, offering training and development to engineers on the effective use of FSI Go.
  • Regularly review engineer and subcontractor documentation, identifying additional work opportunities and necessary repairs from maintenance inspections.
  • Perform audits of site logbooks, engineer and subcontractor activities, ensuring all tools, equipment, and vehicle inspections are completed.
  • Assist the helpdesk with technical inquiries regarding reactive jobs and support in the monthly planning of core engineering PPM tasks.
  • Attend regular site FM meetings as required, providing updates on ongoing issues or challenges related to M&E and Fabric services.
  • Conduct surveying, measuring, and accurate estimating.
  • Act as a deputy for the Regional Manager for specific tasks as requested.
  • Carry out PPM, proactive, and reactive tasks issued through the helpdesk within designated timeframes to meet customer expectations.
  • Provide emergency callout support for the client as needed and participate in a call-out rota.
  • Oversee contractor control duties on behalf of the client, monitoring contractor performance to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Ensure that equipment and surrounding areas meet established company standards.
  • Deliver a professional service that represents the company and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain proactive client communication, addressing concerns or escalating them to management as necessary.
  • Stay informed of contractual obligations and customer requirements at all times.
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to current Health & Safety legislation and company policies.

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Time-served Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Fabric trade with a minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Possess or be able to obtain security clearance to NPPV Level 2 (mandatory for contract work).
  • CSCS Skills card holder.
  • PASMA/IPAF certification.
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, projects, and minor works environments.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Full disclosure is a contractual requirement.
