We are excited to present an opportunity for a Technical Operations Leader to guide a diverse team of engineers in delivering cutting-edge and value-driven engineering solutions throughout our project portfolio. You will be instrumental in ensuring a dependable and secure supply of electricity, contributing significantly to the establishment of a "Network for Net Zero".
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the allocation of engineering resources to support a substantial portfolio of projects exceeding £200 million, including managing in-house personnel and engaging external consultants as necessary.
- Foster the professional growth and performance of a skilled engineering team, while also aiding in the expansion of the team through recruitment efforts.
- Ensure that innovative engineering practices are integrated into designs to provide optimal value for consumers.
- Guarantee that constructed assets align with the needs of operational users and the overall network.
- Advocate for and manage safety in design across the project portfolio, with a strong emphasis on compliance with relevant regulations and effective execution of CDM Principal Designer and Designer roles.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, we would appreciate candidates who possess:
- A qualification in a relevant engineering field, ideally as a Chartered Engineer, with significant experience in a comparable setting.
- Relevant technical and commercial expertise in the Electrical Transmission sector or similar industries.
- Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- A detail-oriented individual with strong skills in prioritization and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively, with the ability to negotiate and influence for the benefit of the entire project portfolio.
