Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Switchboard Operator to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our switchboard service, you will provide comprehensive and high-quality call handling support to our patients, visitors, and staff.
Main Duties
Answering calls to the switchboard in a polite and correct manner
Understanding and using the switchboard console effectively
Responding quickly and calmly to alarms and initiating emergency procedures
Ensuring card-activated doors are open in emergency conditions
Logging emergency call details and monitoring alarms
Providing general information to members of the public and colleagues
Operating University Clinical Trials computers and inputting data
Bleep Management
Operating the multitone bleep system, including diverting bleeps as requested
Keeping up-to-date bleep information and providing batteries
Testing speech and team bleeps daily
Radio Pagers
Understanding different types of pagers and accessing them
Providing batteries and following Trust policies and procedures
