**What you’ll be responsible for**:
- Receive calls to the Trust in a courteous and helpful manner. The postholder will be required to have excellent communication skills, be calm and reassuring. As callers may sometimes be in a distressed state. This role demands strong interpersonal skills coupled with compassionate assertiveness.
- Operate the Trust’s switchboard, answering incoming calls and transferring callers appropriately using tools provided. The post holder will be required to be well spoken with a good telephone manner including a clear voice.
- Undertake training in new skills required for the Coordination Centres effective operation and to maintain those skills in line with supervision and appraisal.
- Provide postal services for the trust including signing and recording of mail.
**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:
- Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous NHS experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Previous admin/ receptionist experience
- This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years reception experience._
