Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to take on the role of Lead Specialist Nurse for the Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Nursing team. This position is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of tailored care and support for patients diagnosed with Upper GI cancer.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for a seasoned nursing professional to offer clinical and professional guidance to the nursing team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the local diagnostic multidisciplinary team and will foster strong collaborations with tertiary services to facilitate seamless patient care pathways.
The Lead Specialist Nurse will conduct nurse-led clinics, assisting patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring they receive timely access to necessary interventions and support for their care needs.
We actively promote and support access to further training and educational opportunities relevant to this role.
Key Responsibilities
a) Deliver specialized nursing care to patients with Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer through personalized care and support strategies.
b) Provide professional leadership and management to the Upper GI Specialist Nursing team, collaborating closely with tertiary centers.
c) Maintain active registration as a healthcare professional, engaging with patients regarding their care delivery, which will involve making informed decisions on a variety of complex clinical matters.
