Home Care Support Provider Job Overview

Purpose

To deliver a variety of non-medical assistance that enables clients to remain in their residences while enhancing their overall quality of life. To aid clients and their families in managing the complexities of aging with respect, compassion, and understanding.

Main Duties

  • Uphold the fundamental values of the Home Instead organization
  • Foster a nurturing living atmosphere to promote the client's wellness
  • Record daily activities and report any notable changes in the client's condition
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and administrative personnel

Companionship Duties

  • Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversations
  • Monitor dietary habits and nutritional intake
  • Encourage involvement in various recreational activities
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and outings
  • Support with travel arrangements
  • Help with mobility and accompany clients to social gatherings

Domestic Assistance Duties

  • Run errands and pick up medications
  • Perform light cleaning and housekeeping tasks
  • Organize and declutter living spaces
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals
  • Assist with pet care and general home upkeep
  • Support with shopping and home deliveries

Personal Support Duties

  • Provide reminders for medication schedules
  • Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
  • Support with continence care and eating/drinking
  • Offer specialized care for Dementia/Alzheimer's and respite/convalescence support
  • Assist with morning and evening routines

Additional Responsibilities

  • Engage in company training and community events
  • Report changes in availability and working hours promptly
  • Participate in feedback initiatives
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as necessary
