As a GCE Urdu Examiner, you will be responsible for marking candidates' responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, while adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures.

Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home. A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post.

You will need to have a high level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Marking candidates' responses accurately and consistently to ensure overall standards are maintained
  • Submitting samples to your Team Leader at designated times
  • Ensuring milestones for marking are adhered to
  • Completing all administration as specified

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification as a teacher, with experience of teaching the relevant qualification and subject
  • A minimum of 5 months part-time teaching experience of the relevant qualification and subject, within the last 10 years
  • Assessment experience with a recognised UK exam board, within the last 5 years (considered for applicants without teaching experience)
