Attendance and Welfare Officer

U-educate is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Pastoral Support and Attendance Officer. This is a full-time, permanent position that will commence in November 2024.
We are looking for an individual who can provide high-quality, well-planned pastoral support and guidance to pupils and families to promote high expectations, raise aspirations, and facilitate academic progress.
Main Responsibilities- Monitor daily student attendance records and identify patterns of absences or tardiness.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding unexplained student absences and arrange meetings if necessary.
- Implement and manage attendance improvement plans for students with chronic absenteeism.
- Liaise with teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to address and support students' attendance issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports on student attendance for school records and compliance with state laws.
The ideal candidate will possess diplomacy, an understanding of vulnerable students, and the ability to resolve conflict in a calm and rational manner.
Requirements- A positive and committed individual who will take responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
- Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (candidates can undertake a free course with U-educate if they do not have a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023).
- Secondary school experience is preferred but not essential.
