Pastoral Support and Attendance Role

U-educate is seeking a dedicated professional to support the senior leadership team in a secondary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking students' attendance and welfare throughout the school day.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Monitor daily student attendance records and identify patterns of absences or tardiness.
  2. Communicate with parents or guardians regarding unexplained student absences and arrange meetings as necessary.
  3. Develop and implement attendance improvement plans for students with chronic absenteeism.
  4. Liaise with teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to address and support students' attendance issues.
  5. Prepare and maintain accurate reports on student attendance for school records and compliance with state laws.
  6. Provide high-quality pastoral support and guidance to pupils and families to promote high expectations, raise aspirations, and facilitate academic progress.
Requirements
  1. A positive and committed individual who will ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
  2. Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  3. Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (candidates can undertake a free course with U-educate if they do not have a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023).
  4. Secondary school experience is preferred but not essential.
