Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to become a vital member of our team within the Special Care Baby Unit. This role primarily involves assisting paediatric physicians in the care of newborns in the postnatal unit. You will receive specialized training to conduct essential assessments on neonates and support the medical team during various procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As a Neonatal Care Coordinator, your main duties will include:

  • Providing assistance to Neonatal and Paediatric physicians in the care of all newborns in the postnatal unit.
  • Overseeing infants requiring transitional care.
  • Collaborating closely with Maternity Discharge Coordinators to facilitate timely patient discharges.
  • Offering support to the SCBU Ward Manager Clerk during periods of absence.
  • Conducting basic assessments for infants in transitional care.
  • Assisting the medical team with various procedures.
  • Supporting the administration and referrals for neonatal RSV immunization clinics.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • Care Certificate Award
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (C, level 4 and above or functional skills level 2)

Essential Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Intermediate IT proficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
