Shorterm Group is seeking to appoint a Lead Structural Engineering Specialist to join their dynamic team.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that offers flexible working arrangements.



Position Overview:
The Lead Structural Engineering Specialist will be an integral part of our Building Structures division.

In this role, you will oversee the effective and compliant execution of all structural engineering designs associated with projects, ensuring technical design delivery aligns with project goals.


Your responsibilities will also include the daily management, support, and mentorship of the technical structural engineering team, working closely under the guidance of the Lead Project Engineer and Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

- You will be on the path to achieving 'Chartered Engineer' status and have completed a formal training review with a recognized professional institution or a qualified mentor.

- If you have progressed through an apprenticeship, you should have attained 'Incorporated Engineer' status or, at a minimum, be 'EngTech' qualified with a recognized institution.


- Experience in large-scale energy transmission and distribution projects is advantageous, though experience in significant energy initiatives and heavy industrial projects will also be valued, as these competencies are easily transferable to this field.


- You will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in written, oral, and visual media.


- You should be capable of drafting letters, emails, summaries, and reports, both factual and interpretative, and able to prepare and deliver presentations, project overviews, or design concepts.


- Familiarity with REVIT Structure is essential, ensuring that the structural designs produced by the company's structural software can be effectively coordinated and integrated into the company's REVIT Structures models.


- You will develop the ability to conceive preliminary scheme solutions to evaluate the feasibility of alternative materials and construction methods.
