Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Level Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our team at Paddock Geo Engineering Limited. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in geo-environmental engineering to take on a leadership role and contribute to the growth and success of our company.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy, as well as excellent project management and client liaison skills. They will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of engineers, providing technical leadership, and carrying out site contamination assessments and site investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a small team of engineers to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Carry out site contamination assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 to Stage 3, including scheduling contamination, waste classification, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Design remediation works and validate results, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Interpretative geo-environmental report writing, including the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
  • Project management and client liaison, including project cost control and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project.
  • Carry out infiltration testing and other site investigations as required.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy, as well as geotechnical report writing and the EIA process.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, with a related Masters Degree being advantageous.
  • Chartership with a relevant body, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Geological Society.
  • Greater than 10 years experience specialising in Ground Investigation, especially Geo-Environmental aspects.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong understanding of HSEQ principles and practices, with the ability to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
