The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy, as well as excellent project management and client liaison skills. They will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of engineers, providing technical leadership, and carrying out site contamination assessments and site investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a small team of engineers to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team on geo-environmental engineering projects.
  • Carry out site contamination assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 to Stage 3, including scheduling contamination, waste classification, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Design and implement remediation works and validate their effectiveness.
  • Write interpretative geo-environmental reports and provide project management and client liaison services.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSEQ) regulations and maintain a clean driving license.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, with a related Master's Degree being advantageous.
  • Chartership with a relevant body, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Geological Society (GS).
  • Greater than 10 years of experience in ground investigation, with a strong focus on geo-environmental aspects.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage junior staff.
