Procurement Systems and Policy Specialist

Croydon Council is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Systems and Policy Specialist to join our Strategic Procurement and Governance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems that drive efficient and effective procurement practices across the council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and systems that ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic procurement systems, including planning, pipeline management, contract management, and e-tendering systems.
  • Manage and maintain procurement documents, templates, and guidance to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Support the measurement of contract manager performance against agreed performance standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address procurement-related issues and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management, with a strong understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations, and best practices.
