Main Duties:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections of fire dampers in accordance with BS9999, installing access doors into ventilation systems in accordance with DW144, and performing installation, repair, and maintenance of passive fire stopping and fire dampers, including ductwork modifications. They will also conduct regular inspections of the physical plant, follow a preventative maintenance program, and make recommendations for major repairs. Additionally, they will maintain personal equipment and materials stocks inventories, provide written reports, and ensure records are maintained.

The incumbent must work within the guidance provided by BS 9999, RRO 2005 Order, and DW144/145, and associated company documents, to ensure that any plant worked on is tested, compliant, safe, and free from risks. They will also be expected to undertake any other duties associated with the output of the Regional Team as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections of fire dampers in accordance with BS9999
  • Install access doors into ventilation systems in accordance with DW144
  • Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of passive fire stopping and fire dampers, including ductwork modifications
  • Conduct regular inspections of the physical plant
  • Follow a preventative maintenance program
  • Make recommendations for major repairs
  • Maintain personal equipment and materials stocks inventories
  • Provide written reports
  • Ensure records are maintained
