About The JobWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Social Worker to join our team, specializing in Court Work. As a case-holding social worker, you will work with approximately 20 children and their families who are subject to care proceedings. Your responsibilities will include statutory visiting, care planning, and review, as well as court appearances.
You will work closely with children and their families to assist in decision-making regarding their care, assessing risks and protective factors, and identifying the likelihood of sustained change within the child's timescales. Your assessments will be based on sound evidence and analysis, and you will produce high-quality work that informs recommendations.
What We Are Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced social worker who has a strong understanding of the DOH Framework of assessment and the NSPCC Reunification framework. You will have the skills to overcome barriers to engagement during the assessment process and tailor your assessments to the learning styles of parents.
You will work collaboratively with other professionals to explore informal support networks available to parents and assist them in the parenting role. Your assessments will draw upon your knowledge of the child's needs and the impact of trauma on parents' capacity.
