We are seeking a dedicated and proactive regulatory expert to assist in the evolution of market rules and regulations essential for achieving these objectives. You will collaborate within a compact team, offering guidance to colleagues engaged in power generation and trading from our current fleet of power plants, as well as those pursuing innovative low-carbon energy solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and summarize critical regulatory changes impacting our ongoing operations, development initiatives, and strategic growth plans, including wholesale market, balancing market, capacity market, and grid connection issues.
  • Evaluate and provide insights on Ofgem reports and related activities to the UK team.
  • Participate in Energy UK and other industry association meetings, engaging with regulators and system operators as necessary, while advocating for Uniper's business interests in alignment with our established positions.
  • Draft formal responses to pertinent industry and regulatory consultations.
  • Facilitate and coordinate discussions with Ofgem, government representatives, the system operator, and other relevant entities, supporting the Head of UK Regulatory Management and collaborating with the Energy Policy and Regulation team.
  • Work closely with the business and, when necessary, the legal team to comprehend regulations and market rules applicable to our operations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of essential compliance elements, including competition law and REMIT.

Your Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as economics or law.
  • Proven knowledge of compliance with applicable competition law and market transparency standards.
  • Strong ability to formulate compelling arguments and communicate them effectively, both verbally and in writing, to government bodies, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Capacity to align consultation responses with Uniper's overarching strategy and business objectives.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficient in interpreting complex data and regulations, extracting key insights relevant to our business.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to represent Uniper's positions at external meetings with credible and clear arguments.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of the commercial landscape, regulatory framework, and energy policy affecting Uniper's operations.
  • Experience in an international corporate setting, with familiarity regarding EU-UK market dynamics.
