Job Summary:
Thomas Brown Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Product Safety Specialist to join our client's Head Office team in the UK. As a key member of the regulatory affairs team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the product portfolio, working closely with the Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the safety assessment of new products and conduct due diligence checks on existing products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support NPD projects by preparing safety assessments and developing product safety capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety-related product claims are accurate and compliant.
- Manage external suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality safety reports.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and regulatory changes that may impact the product portfolio's safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Toxicology, with an advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience in safety assessment in the FMCG industry.
- Demonstrable experience in a product safety management role within the food and/or retail sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of botanical ingredients and regulatory requirements.
- Professional qualifications such as DABT (Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology) or UKRT (UK Register of Toxicologists) are a plus.
