Preceptorship Program for Band 5 Midwives at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
We are currently seeking applications from newly qualified or newly registered midwives in the UK, Band 5, who will be eligible for registration in the near future. It is essential for newly registered midwives to have their NMC pin validated prior to submission of their application. Our dedicated Practice Education team is committed to guiding you as you embark on your midwifery career with us, providing a thorough orientation package, a structured preceptorship program, and annual mandatory training updates. We have specialized teams and expert midwives focusing on areas such as Ante Natal screening, Infant Feeding, NIPE, Bereavement, Governance, FGM, Maternal Medicine, Diabetes, Safeguarding, and Perinatal Mental Health, all ready to support you in your areas of interest. We take pride in delivering comprehensive, woman-centered care to our diverse community. Our enthusiastic midwifery and obstetric teams collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) framework to address the unique needs of women from various social and cultural backgrounds. We aim to normalize the pregnancy and birth experience for women, whether they are classified as high or low risk, excelling in the provision of care for those requiring high-risk management. We actively promote normality in childbirth and are working to enhance our homebirth rates and the availability of midwife-led units through a continuity of carer model. Our well-established Fetal Monitoring team provides MDT training, weekly educational sessions, and clinical support during shifts. You will gain in-depth knowledge of fetal well-being, CTG, and STAN monitoring, which will enhance your understanding and contribute to safe and healthy birth outcomes. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills across the entire maternity service, supporting our commitment to continuity of care for all women. All contracts are rotational, allowing you to gain experience in various midwifery areas, including both inpatient and outpatient settings.
