JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the Group Security division, the Security Architecture team is tasked with:

  • Establishing and updating Security Architecture design frameworks and reference models.
  • Formulating Architecture standards and guidelines, ensuring they remain current.
  • Delivering Security Architecture Baselines for the organization.
  • Collaborating with other architecture teams within Liberty Global to create secure designs that adhere to established security requirements.
  • Crafting and executing the technical security strategy for Liberty Global.
  • Providing assurance on security architecture and design for all initiatives, ensuring effective identification and management of security risks.

Your role will involve ensuring the team meets these responsibilities through collaboration with internal Global Security teams, various departments, and business units across our operational regions.

The primary goal is to guarantee the safety and security of our information and systems by ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and compliance standards, leading to architectures and solutions that mitigate technical security risks and vulnerabilities.

A significant aspect of this role is to act as a champion for security design best practices and offer security architecture consulting as needed.

The Global Security Solutions Architect will also oversee daily demands and activities, ensuring that tasks are prioritized effectively and progress is communicated to relevant stakeholders. This position is expected to enhance the quality of team outputs through peer evaluations and to mentor team members, fostering their professional growth.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Architecture design frameworks and reference models.
  • Accountable for the development and upkeep of Architecture Standards.
  • Ensure the applicability and delivery of Security Architecture baselines.
  • Initiate and sustain relationships with architecture teams across Liberty Global to collaboratively establish secure designs.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of the technical security strategy.
  • Plan and conduct architectural design reviews for new Cloud and On-Premise solutions, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigations.
  • Monitor and promote security compliance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Deliver technical security components to support project planning, design, and implementation.
  • Engage with multiple functions to facilitate the modernization of cybersecurity practices.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and promote Security Policies, Standards, and a sustainable security strategy for future deployments.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of team progress to relevant stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience in Security Architecture or related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical security controls, cloud infrastructures, and application security.
  • Familiarity with Security Architecture Frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO27001, SABSA, and TOGAF.

FURTHER EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

  • Identifying security vulnerabilities through threat modeling and architectural assessments.
  • Expertise in Identity and Access Management, Data Leakage Prevention, and Network Security.
  • Knowledge of Cryptography, Encryption, Key Management, and related technologies.
  • Application Security Design, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Cloud security design and assurance across platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI.
  • Development of foundational Security Architectures, Standards, and Whitepapers.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills, capable of conveying risks and mitigations to senior management.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of technical trends in the Telecoms/IT sector, including AI, 5G, and Virtualization.
  • Experience in policy engineering and automation of security compliance monitoring.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, CCSP, OSCP, or similar.
  • Certification in cloud vendor offerings like AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
