JOB PURPOSE

This position is designed to ensure that our team meets its responsibilities through collaboration with internal Global Security teams, various Liberty Global departments, and business units, as well as the different OpCos and JVs in operation.

The primary goal is to guarantee the safety and security of our information and systems by ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and compliance requirements, leading to architectures and solutions that mitigate technical security risks and reduce vulnerabilities.

A significant focus will be on developing security architecture, acting as an advocate for best practices in security design, and providing consulting on security architecture and design as needed.

As an AI/ML Security Architect, you will be pivotal in supporting all AI-related initiatives from a security perspective, ensuring the technical security and integrity of AI and machine learning systems within the organization. Your responsibilities will include developing, designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security standards, measures, and controls for AI and ML applications, models, and data while collaborating with the business on these initiatives.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and security professionals, and provide general support for security design assurance across a wide range of business initiatives.

The AI/ML Security Architect will also manage daily demands and activities, ensuring that work is prioritized appropriately and progress is communicated effectively. This role will promote quality outcomes through peer reviews and mentor team members, encouraging their personal development. You will lead the identification, development, and deployment of use cases and security controls across business and security services to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines for AI/ML to safeguard organizational assets and ensure secure operations.
• Accountable for creating and maintaining architectural design patterns and reference architectures, ensuring that they are kept current.
• Ensure the applicability and delivery of Security Architecture baselines, ensuring compliance of AI/ML systems with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Support the testing of AI/ML products, services, and models, collaborating with development teams and the security test team.
• Establish and nurture relationships with architecture teams across Liberty Global to collaboratively develop secure architectures and designs.
• Work with the broader team to integrate security controls into AI/ML applications, models, algorithms, data, and pipelines.
• Drive the realization of Liberty Global's technical security strategy.
• Monitor and ensure security compliance throughout project lifecycles.
• Plan and conduct architectural design reviews for new AI and ML solutions, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate mitigations.
• Stay informed about emerging AI security threats, trends, and technologies, evaluating their impact and proactively adapting security measures.
• Evaluate and adopt security tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance the overall security posture of AI/ML and other business systems.
• Engage across multiple functions to support and innovate in the modernization of cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote awareness and adoption of Security Policies, Standards, Principles, and a sustainable security strategy for future deployments.
• Ensure accurate delivery progress reporting for the team is completed and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

WE TEND TO LOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH:

• Proven experience in Security Architecture or similar roles, with a focus on AI/ML security, demonstrating a deep understanding of AI technologies, best practices, standards, algorithms, models, frameworks, regulations, and controls.
• Extensive experience in technical security controls, security principles, AI/ML pipelines, software engineering, and cloud infrastructures.
• Development of foundational Security Architectures and Designs, Security Baselines, Standards, and Whitepapers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

FURTHER EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

• Identifying security flaws through threat modeling, risk analysis, architectural assessments, and design reviews.
• Current security vulnerabilities and threats specific to AI/ML.
• Identity and Access Management, Data Leakage Prevention, Network and Infrastructure Security, Cryptography, and Key Management.
• Application Security Design, DevSecOps, Agile practices, and automation.
• Cloud security design and assurance, including experience with major cloud platforms.
• Strong documentation, design, and presentation skills, capable of conveying risks and mitigations to senior management.
• Team leadership experience.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• In-depth understanding of technical trends in the AI and Telecoms/IT industry.
• Experience in policy engineering and automation of security and compliance monitoring.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML.
• Coding experience with AI & ML libraries and frameworks.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree level education or equivalent industrial experience.
• Relevant security certifications.
• Certification in cloud vendor offerings and AI/ML technology stacks.
