Position Overview

ROLE: POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PRACTITIONER

Weekly Commitment: 27 hours, typically Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.

Compensation: £12.17 per hour.

Team Dynamics

The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team comprises a PBS Manager and two PBS Practitioners. This team collaborates with operational staff to implement effective strategies and achieve optimal outcomes for those we assist, particularly individuals with significant behavioural needs.

Our PBS approach is centered on the individual, guided by evidence-based practices in accordance with the PBS Competency framework and current best practices. We focus on enhancing the quality of life for those we support while minimizing restrictions through functional assessments, data analysis, direct support, service evaluations, and collaborative skill development.

As a Positive Behaviour Organisation, our PBS team also plays a vital role in training and supporting colleagues, providing staff training, debriefing sessions, and post-incident evaluations, alongside mental health first aid for staff across the organization.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support. Ideal candidates will have experience in delivering responsive and positive services, particularly for individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours. You will be part of a supportive and skilled team, engaging in a diverse and fulfilling role that includes:

  • Providing direct support to individuals.
  • Facilitating staff training and debriefing sessions.
  • Conducting functional assessments and behaviour analysis.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Collaborating with individuals to enhance their skills and independence.
  • Supporting staff in building their confidence and resilience.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with part of your time spent in service.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Alignment with Bethphage's values.
  • Experience in conducting assessments.
  • Proficiency in report writing.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Experience assisting individuals with challenging behaviours.
  • Valid UK driving licence and personal vehicle with business insurance.

Desirable Qualifications:
