Shrewsbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom Bethphage Full time

BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PRACTITIONER

Weekly commitment of 27 hours, typically scheduled from Monday to Friday, within the hours of 9am to 5pm.

Competitive hourly compensation of £12.17.

Company Overview

Bethphage is a charitable organization founded in 1994, dedicated to offering assistance to adults with learning and physical disabilities, as well as mental health challenges in Shropshire and the West Midlands.

Our mission is to tailor our services to empower individuals to reach their full potential, fulfill their aspirations, and receive the necessary support to live independently within their communities. At Bethphage, we strive to deliver exceptional care and support, making it crucial for applicants to be committed to providing the highest quality of assistance.

About the PBS Team

The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team comprises a PBS Manager and two PBS Practitioners. This team collaborates with the operational staff to implement effective strategies and achieve optimal outcomes for those we assist, particularly individuals with significant behavioural needs.

Utilizing a person-centered, evidence-based methodology that aligns with the PBS Competency framework and current best practices, our PBS approach at Bethphage focuses on collaborative efforts with the individuals we support, aiming to enhance their quality of life while minimizing restrictions. This is accomplished through functional assessments, data analysis, report generation, direct support, service evaluations, observations, skill development, and teamwork.

As a Positive Behaviour Organisation, the PBS team at Bethphage also plays a vital role in supporting our colleagues by providing staff training, debriefing sessions, and post-incident analyses, along with mental health first aid training for staff throughout the organization.

We seek an individual who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support. We welcome applications from candidates who are keen to contribute to the delivery of a responsive and positive service, possess experience in assisting individuals with challenging behaviours, and wish to be part of a supportive and skilled team. Your role will be diverse and fulfilling, encompassing responsibilities such as providing direct support, facilitating staff training and debriefing sessions, conducting functional assessments and behaviour analyses, developing, implementing, and evaluating PBS plans, and collaborating with individuals to enhance their skills and independence.
