Job Description

Job Title: Pupil Support Assistant - Behaviour Management

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide active support to staff in managing students with challenging behaviour, while upholding high standards and adhering to school routines. This includes supervising the seclusion room, including break and lunch times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance
  • Provide comprehensive pastoral support for all students
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure effective communication with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a confident and patient manner
  • Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning is advantageous

Requirements:

  • Competent behaviour management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Patience, reliability, and sensitivity to the needs of pupils
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting learning
