About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Smallbrook School, part of Acorn Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and social development of our pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to teachers to assist pupils with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom environment.
- Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet the individual needs of our pupils.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support and progress.
- Contribute to the creation of a therapeutic, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement engaging and personalized curricula.
- Support the development of pupils' foundation knowledge and skills to ensure a smooth transition to the next life stage.
Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Experience of working with pupils with special needs.
- Good standard of general education with at least a C (or equivalent) GCSE in numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of our pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
