Academic Mentor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Lead to join our team at Haberdashers' Abraham Darby. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Head of Pathways and mentoring pupils in the THRIVE provision.
Key Responsibilities:- Progress Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze pupil progress data to identify areas of improvement and inform targeted interventions.
- Missed Learning Support: Collaborate with teachers and mentors to provide catch-up support for absent pupils, focusing on core knowledge and skills.
- Academic Intervention: Run homework and academic intervention clinics to support pupils in THRIVE, working closely with Academic mentors and delegating tasks as needed.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify pupils requiring additional academic support and develop strategies to improve progress.
- Liaison and Communication: Effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and mentors to ensure seamless support for pupils' academic achievement and welfare.
- Transition Support: Assist pupils in transitioning back to full-time main school lessons, working closely with main school classroom teachers to evaluate pupil engagement and success.
- Attendance and Behaviour: Collaborate with the attendance team and pupil support services to raise pupil attendance and embed pastoral support for pupils and their families.
- Mentor Time Activities: Plan and deliver a range of mentor time activities and assemblies that reflect pupil needs and interests, promoting whole school ethos and practice.
