Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Part Time Gear Up Mentor for Carbon High School. As a mentor, you will work closely with high school students and families to provide academic support, guidance, and resources to help them achieve their college and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring and academic assistance to high school students
  • Work with students and families to identify and address barriers to academic success
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote college readiness and access
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to provide resources and support to students and families
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings and annual training sessions
  • Participate in statewide, regional, and national GEAR UP conferences for professional development
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
  • Valid Utah driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with high school students and families
  • Knowledge of college admissions and financial aid processes
  • Fluency in Spanish
