Job Title: Non-Executive Director

HSB | UK and Ireland is seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director to join our team. As a key member of our Board, you will play a vital role in shaping the company's strategic direction and ensuring the effective governance of our operations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of achievement in complex corporate structures, with experience of working at a senior level in the property insurance sector. You will be commercially astute, with operational or service delivery experience and a proven ability to execute successful strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent judgment and constructive challenge to the executive team, ensuring that the company's strategic plans are aligned with its vision and values.
  • Offer insights on market trends, changes to the regulatory landscape, and the competitive landscape, to inform the company's strategic decisions.
  • Ensure that HSB | UK and Ireland adheres to high standards of corporate governance, providing independent oversight and guidance to the executive team.
  • Monitor the company's financial performance against targets and adherence to key control frameworks.
  • Attend and contribute to quarterly Board and Committee meetings, offering your expertise to guide strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in complex global corporate structures, with a strong track record of achievement in more than one organisation at a senior level.
  • Commercially astute, with operational or service delivery experience and a proven ability to execute successful strategies.
  • Experience of the property insurance sector is essential.
  • Relevant intellectual ability to enable consideration of complex issues, with attention to detail and a sound strategic thinker.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to operate in a consultative and coaching style.
