Apprentice Senior Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and skilled Apprentice Senior Sous Chef to join our team at The Bell Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will support our Head Chef in delivering exceptional food service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-lead the kitchen team with the Head Chef
  • Deputize in their absence
  • Assist with the development of the kitchen team
  • Prepare and deliver large functions with the senior management team
  • Food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Maintain good food hygiene practices
  • Equipment preparation and cleaning
  • Kitchen cleaning and maintenance

Training and Development:

You will have access to an online learning platform and portfolio system, and will work with our training partners HIT Training to develop your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months course length, plus up to 3 months for End Point Assessment
  • At least 6 hours per week in paid hours to complete off-the-job training
  • Attendance at training sessions at the Chef Academy every 4-6 weeks

Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you may be able to progress into a head chef role and continue your professional development with a higher level apprenticeship.
