Assistant Merchandiser - Full Time Position

We are expanding our merchandising team to facilitate our next growth phase. Your role will encompass the development and proactive enhancement of the merchandising function, including assisting in the establishment and management of top-tier merchandising systems and processes.

Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with our buying, supply chain, retail, and online teams to ensure seamless product delivery across all channels.

As a visible team player, you will engage with various stakeholders throughout the organization, building strong partnerships, particularly with the buying team. Your innovative ideas, experience, energy, and enthusiasm will be invaluable. You will provide strategic direction while maintaining attention to detail, serving as an ambassador for the brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Merchandiser, Head of Merchandising, and Directors to influence operational strategies and developments.
  • Assist the merchandising and buying teams in creating a category framework that aligns with sales targets, stock management, promotional spending, markdown strategies, net margin achievements, and other commercial KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate data analysis to inform commercial decisions and work with various stakeholders to enhance data integrity.
  • Support the forecasting process for key KPIs, regularly monitoring progress and suggesting corrective actions as needed.
  • Aid buyers in developing and purchasing commercial ranges that meet the company's brand, financial, product, and customer objectives.
  • Manage overall stock levels for your categories, maintaining line cards and monitoring intake while collaborating with buying and supply chain teams.
  • Work alongside channel teams to assess product performance, identify issues, and propose corrective measures.
  • Analyze sales trends to identify trading opportunities and make informed recommendations to the buying teams.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure product availability for launches and promotions across all channels.
  • Generate ideas to positively influence business trading through pricing promotions across various channels.
  • Advise on best practices to continuously enhance the merchandising and buying functions.
  • Foster effective relationships with all members of the buying, merchandising, and supply chain teams based on reliable and relevant data.
  • Deliver essential information promptly and present at meetings as required.
  • Enhance operational processes to improve overall performance and compliance.

  • Strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of merchandising principles.

  • Relevant experience in a complex, multi-channel setting.
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal colleagues.
  • An inquisitive and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of navigating complexity and ambiguity.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in data analysis and advanced Excel skills.
