Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Merchandiser, Head of Merchandising, and Directors to shape operational strategies and developments.
  • Assist the merchandising and buying teams in formulating the category framework, which includes sales targets, stock management, promotional spending, markdown strategies, and other commercial KPIs aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure the utilization and analysis of accurate data to inform commercial decisions, working with various stakeholders to enhance data integrity.
  • Aid in the forecasting and reforecasting processes for key performance indicators, regularly monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Support buyers in the development and procurement of commercial ranges that align with the company's brand and financial goals.
  • Manage overall stock levels for your assigned categories, maintaining line cards and monitoring intake, collaborating with buying and supply chain teams.
  • Work alongside channel teams to assess product performance, identify issues, and propose corrective measures.
  • Analyze sales data to identify best and worst sellers, leveraging insights to recommend actions that maximize sales and profit opportunities.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure product availability for launches and promotions across all channels.
  • Generate ideas to positively influence business performance through pricing promotions across various channels.
  • Advise on best practices to continually enhance the merchandising and buying functions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all members of the buying, merchandising, and supply chain teams, grounded in reliable and relevant data.
  • Deliver critical information timely and present at meetings as required.
  • Enhance operational processes to improve overall performance and compliance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of merchandising; familiarity with online brand marketplaces is advantageous.
  • A trading mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
  • Proven functional experience in a complex, multi-channel setting.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships with buying, supply chain, and other internal teams.
  • An inquisitive and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of navigating complexity and ambiguity.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a history of meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in data analysis and computer skills, particularly advanced Excel capabilities.
