The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Assistant Merchandiser to join the merchandising team. The Assistant Merchandiser role will play a key role within the function, ensuring the execution of overall Merchandising department and business priorities. Central to this role is ensuring that best practice Merchandising standards are achieved within the department, working closely with the Merchandiser and/or Planned to deliver continuous improvement.

What to expect from the role

Work with both the department team and overall Merchandising team to highlight opportunities at to improve business performance, establishing best practice for both communication and execution Responsible for the accurate and timely production of agreed management reports within the functional area. Responsible for pulling Weekly/monthly Trade reports. Identify opportunities to improve learning from history. Identify product category / channel performance trends, risks and opportunities. Play your role as a key part of overall the BRIS Merchandise department to plan and execute business priorities, Support the functional manager with communication. Ensure information is sent out to agreed deadlines and in the correct format. Collaboration with other departments is key to ensure consistency. Be the designated point of contact for your area of specialism for internal and external contacts. Store Visits -O&O visit follow up/actions to ensure best practice Merchandising standards in these stores. Build strong cross-functional relationships taking on board concerns and opportunities to help drive the business forward. Ensure consistency in execution of all changes to business performance, aligning activity across all Assistant Merchandisers. Support each function in times of peak activity, for example Allocation support during seasonal launch and promotional periods. Responsible for collating weekly/month/quarter and hindsight reporting packs.

Planning - focus

Support in the development of clear planning KPIs and reporting to drive improved business performance. Create clear and consistent reports to analyse and propose actions on all key business initiatives (eg NPI/BASE; BAB; Gift Sets; Intake forecasts; Margin) Input into the proposal for key business planning stages, including product and category mixes; promotions; end of season sale. Ensure data is accurate at all times for key business reports, including WSSI, budgeting and promotions.


Ideal candidates will have

Some experience with Merchandise planning systems Excellent MS Office skills: advanced Excel, Word and Powerpoint Strong fashion/jewellery retail background within a Merchandising Department Analytical, High attention to detail Strong commercial awareness Excellent communicator and team player Able to use initiative and make recommendations to maximise sales Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities Able to analyse, present and communicate information in a manner that allows informed decision-making
